Jour d’Hermès is a classic women’s fragrance from Hermès, created by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. Its French name, “Jour,” means “daytime” or “light,” reflecting the perfumer’s philosophy of “using only flowers to express the essence and nature of women.”
Currently, there are two main versions on the market, with the following differences:
Jour d’Hermès EDP: Launched in 2012, a floral fragrance.
Core notes: Top notes are lemon and grapefruit; middle notes are gardenia, sweet pea, and white flowers; base notes are musk and woody notes.
Style impression: Elegant and delicate, like the soft, hazy white light of a spring morning, with a prominent green note.
Bottle cap characteristics: Pure white cap.
Jour d’Hermès Eau de Parfum (Absolu)
Basic Information: Launched in 2014, this is a richer version of the EDP.
Core Fragrance Notes: Top notes are grapefruit and apricot blossom; middle notes are gardenia and jasmine sambac; base notes are woody and oakmoss.
Style Impression: More rich, warm, and sensual, with fuller floral notes and a slightly heavier woody feel, giving it a more mature appearance.
Bottle Cap Features: Gold and white bottle cap.
